At Pearson Longman we believe that every student matters, and therefore that every teacher matters even more!
This year's Pearson Longman Day is dedicated to just that. We want to help you to ensure that every student matters by providing a day of teacher training that will allow us to revisit, review and refresh how we teach grammar, culture and writing skills to a mixed ability class, offering you more support, more ideas and more meaningful practical activities to use in class than ever.
Pearson Longman organises annual ELT conferences with international authors, methodology experts and Pearson Longman Educational Consultants to provide input and training in English Language Teaching.
Pearson Longman Days are training events with practical advice and activities, to help teachers to reach and motivate a new generation of students.
Don't miss this great opportunity for training!

Graphic Grammar!
Jim Rose and Steve Elsworth
Learning grammar can be dull, boring and difficult: but not always! We are going to describe an approach that uses our learners' strong visual intelligence to see, understand and remember grammar. It's fun!
Culture and Language - There's more to it than red buses and 5 o'clock tea!
Rob Dean
Some say that it is not possible to fully appreciate a language without understanding the culture that gave rise to it. To what extent is this true? Is it relevant to focus on culture when the majority of English used in the world is between speakers of other languages? Another issue concerns the fact that nowadays we are often faced with multicultural classes. How can we broaden our learners' understanding not only of each others' cultural backgrounds, but also of cultures from beyond the classroom? Answers to these questions and more will be covered in this entertaining look at some of the links between language and national identity.
Getting started with the Interactive Whiteboard
Italian Educational Consultant
Many of us by now have seen or heard about the Interactive White Board, but few of us are currently using it in our day to day teaching. This year with more than 10,000 Interactive White Boards being introduced into lower secondary schools, the prospect of finding one in our classroom is drawing closer. This session is designed to be an introduction to the key functions of an Interactive White Board and how to use them when teaching English. In the spirit of ?every teacher matters even more? we want to support you to become as familiar with using the Interactive White Board as you are with the ordinary chalkboard.
The write stuff
Jim Rose and Steve Elsworth
The modern world is covered with different text types - adverts, websites, letters, newspaper articles, poems, leaflets are just a few - and they each have different rules and language. Our students are expected to be able to produce several of these text types, often in examinations. How do we prepare them to write journalism, adverts or even postcards? We look at the whole writing experience - how to prepare our students for writing; the importance of a proper model; and the arts of self-correction and reflection. And you can write something too
